Light Sensitivity

This is also known as photophobia and has many possible causes. A complete eye exam will help determine if the cause is something as minor as dry eye or something more serious such as inflammation of the internal structure of the eye. In some cases, the cause may be related to diseases affecting the brain without involving the eye itself. An eye exam is generally indicated for patients with sensitivity to light as this symptom is generally the result of another disease as opposed to being a primary disease in and of itself.
