Blurry Vision

There is such a wide range of causes for this common ocular complaint that the exact cause is often not known until a full ocular exam is performed. This will include an evaluation of the front of the eye as well as the back of the eye-particularly the macula and optic nerve. The latter two structures are usually examined with advanced imaging techniques designed to show even the slightest anatomical changes in these most critical parts of the visual system. Depending on the exact cause, treatment may be indicated urgently or, if there is no significant macular or optic nerve pathology, simply obtaining a new prescription and glasses may be all that is necessary.
