MISSION AND VISION

Our mission at The California Retina Institute is to deliver premier, world-class medical and surgical care to patients with ocular diseases. Our practice model merges the rigor and excellence of academic medicine with the personalized attention of a private practice. This approach ensures that our patients receive cutting-edge diagnostic and therapeutic care with unencumbered access to leading experts in retinal disease. Our core values are excellence, professionalism, responsibility and integrity while our guiding principle is to, above all, do what is best for our patients.

BACKGROUND

The concept for The California Retina Institute stemmed from the founding physician’s decade long background as a Professor of Ophthalmology at Stanford Medical Center as well as his work as a private practice physician. Those experiences impressed upon him the strong need for a practice which combines the adeptness and expertise of an academic medical center with the accessibility and patient-centric approach of a private practice. The desire to actualize this idea drove him to pursue an MBA at the Wharton School of Business (University of Pennsylvania) which combined with the gracious support of Stanford Medicine Leadership ultimately culminated in the founding of The California Retina Institute. With the deepest commitment to providing cutting-edge medical care combined with a patient-first approach, The Institute embodies a hybrid model of medicine: combining the advantages of both academia and private practice. Ultimately, we seek to deliver the highest standard of ocular medicine and surgery to every patient for whom we are privileged to care.
